ancient spirit
modern voice
There is an ancestral memory in all of us that, if given the opportunity, can renew our kinship to the Circle of all Life. Re-awakening ancient memories from our primeval past allows our consciousness to unite again in harmony with Mother Earth. Evoking our biophilia, reclaiming nature as a mystical mirror of ourselves, having spiritual adventures and experiences in green spaces - these are the blessings that can assist us in the rewilding of our souls. The Original Art: With a palette of earth tones, shapes and symbols, "Dance of the Old Ones" depicts the timeless dance of tribal peoples in the past, present and future, and was created with mixed media, collograph prints, cut paper, watermedia, hand-carved stamps, oil pastel and gold leaf.
The Original Art: Shapeshifters and earth spirits encounter a wisdom teacher in this embossed paper tablet, and the colours of the desert were applied with gesso, ink, rubbed conte and clay pigments. The base for "Ancestral Spirits" was hand-carved from a soft rubber block, and cotton fibre was used for the embossed print editions.
The Original Art: Created with great care and ceremony, and with the permission of the Elders and earthkeepers of this sacred site, these carved plates are inlaid with conte, watermedia, pigments, fibres, sand, found objects and particles of semi-precious stones. Each panel depicts a different group of petroglyphs, as interpreted by the artist.
